A New Delhi court Sunday released the founder and leaders of a surging youth-led political movement who were detained in a crackdown that stifled a major protest a day earlier in the Indian capital.

Rescue helicopters and soldiers brought food and other relief materials to the area along the Budhi Gandaki river in north central Nepal and began evacuating residents and tourists from the area. Five people have been reported missing and no fatalities have been reported so far.
